Flying Legend Dale Snodgrass Passed Away In A Plane Crash At Lewiston Airport

Officials are investigating the single-engine plane crash on Saturday at the Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport, Idaho. Dale Snodgrass who is a very talented F-14 pilot was the only occupant of the aircraft when it crashed during the takeoff around noon.

According to Lewiston Fire Department Chief Travis Myklebust, aircraft caught fire just off the airport’s taxiway. Firefighters attended to the scene and were able to bring the fire under control in less than 5 minutes. First responders reported the tragic news that Snodgrass didn’t survive.

Lewiston police also responded to the incident to help Airport staff with the investigation, Myklebust mentioned that they had to close one runaway because of the incident. However, the airport stayed operational using the other runaway.

The world has a lost a pilot who has been considered one of the greatest fighter pilots of all time.
