During the recent war with Russia, Ukraine has achieved great success using drones. The following video showing Turkish-manufactured Bayraktar TB2 drones destroying Russian infantry vehicles is such a good example of this.

The video shared by the popular war-tracking Twitter account @UAWeapons shows how much damage these drones can do. This drone footage was taken above Kherson Oblast in Ukraine and the drone strikes are destroying the Russian BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicle completely. You can see how the vehicles look when the smoke and debris are cleared.

The Bayraktar TB2 drone differs from the many other UAVs used by the Ukraine forces. This winged drone is roughly a size of a small plane and uses a series of high-resolution cameras. This drone does a great service to Ukrainian ground forces by providing tactical intelligence and surveillance, reconnaissance, and target acquisition. It can be fitted with laser-guided bombs and also can use to launch rocket strikes. The ceiling of this drone is 30,000 feet and can fly for up to 24 hours without stopping.

Military reports last week revealed that Bayraktar drones operated by the Ukrainian Air Forces have destroyed almost $27 million worth of Russian military hardware in a matter of days.

Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces described their victories over the Russian military using drones,

“Within three days, from 31 August to 2 September, a pair of Bayraktar TV-2 UAVs destroyed enemy equipment worth about 26.5 million dollars. These are 8 T-72 tanks (the estimated cost of one being $3 million), one Acacia self-propelled gun ($1.6 million), infantry fighting vehicles ($0.6 million) and howitzers ($0.3 million),”

He also mentioned that Ukrainian drones have destroyed five Russian T-72 tanks and one infantry fighting vehicle which added to a total value of $1.85 million. Ukrainian officials say that the TB2 drones and skillful Ukrainian military are a great combination. They also revealed that one of the drones used to conduct the attacks was gifted to Ukraine by Lithuania.
