Video: Russian SU-30SM Fighters Intercepting US Navy P-8A Poseidon Over Black Sea
According to Russia’s ministry of defense 2, Russian SU-30SM fighter jets intercepted a US Navy P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft over the Black sea on Tuesday. Russias Ministry of defense tweeted on Wednesday,

In Russia’s ministry if defense website they further explained the situation as “On the eve of July 6, Russian means of airspace control detected an air target approaching the State border of the Russian Federation over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea. To identify the air target and prevent violation of the State Border of the Russian Federation, two Su-30 fighters from the duty forces of the naval aviation and air defense of the Black Sea Fleet were raised into the air.”
Two Russian SU-30SM jets then escorted the US Navy patrol aircraft over the Black sea. These combat aircraft took off to identify a possible break of international rules for the use of airspace. Later Russia’s ministry of defense stated that the state border of the Russian federation was not violated.
This interception happened just after 2 weeks that Russia mentioned their warships and aircraft fired warning shots at a British warship that was operating in the Black sea.
