Russia To Unveil Its New Stealth Fighter
Russia’s new fighter jet which is apparently known as “Checkmate” to make its debut at the MAKS air show in Moscow tomorrow (20th). The MAKS air show is planned to take place from 20th-25th of July. Russia’s top fighter jet manufacturer Sukhoi is the developer of this new single-engine stealth fighter.
Rostec, which is Sukhoi’s parent company released a video on the 13th of July teasing the aircraft “Checkmate”. A few days later photos start to flood in social media saying this is Russia’s 5th generation stealth fighter.
There is a number of rumours that this fighter jet is not only to Russia but also to export to other countries. One of Russia’s military expert Samuel Bendett stated that “Checkmate is an export fighter—a relatively inexpensive, low-observable warplane that Sukhoi can sell to countries that the U.S. State Department won’t allow to buy the F-35.”
