Japans’s Air Self-Defense Force mentioned last month that they will create the Olympic rings over the Tokyo sky at the opening ceremony. Their Blue Impulse aerobatic team is set to draw the Olympics logo with colored smoke. We found interesting photos and videos of this aerobatics team’s practice run on the internet.

Japanese Blue Impulse aerobatic team is first founded in 1960 and consisted of six F-86 Sabres. In present days they use nine Kawasaki T-4 s in their team.

The aerobatic team’s fighter jets will fly over the Olympics ceremony opening before nighttime at National Stadium creating smoke rings of blue, yellow, black, green, and red colors on 23rd. ASDF Chief of Staff said “We want to bring smiles to many people around the world,”

Videos circulated yesterday on social media showing skywriting of Olympic rings with white smoke in a rehearsal. Aviation fans who were gathered around the area were amazed and loved the skills of the aerobatic team. You can see the photos and video from the rehearsals below.
