A United States Navy McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Super Hornet was crashed on the 3rd of June killing the pilot. According to the press release the pilot has been killed in the incident and no civilians were harmed. Lt. Richard Bullock was the pilot who was killed in the accident.

Before the crash, this FA-18 fighter aircraft was stationed at the Naval Air Station Lemoore which is the largest US Navy military base and is also a home for five carrier air wings.

Task&Purpose reported that the crash happened in a territory of Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, which is used as a testing range in the Mojave desert north of Los Angeles.

According to the reports by the Aviation Safety Network, this was the first deadly F/A-18 crash since 2019. The US Navy did not disclose more information about the cause of the crash.
