Lockheed Martin and Puerto Rico Foster Innovation and Opportunities for Local Communities
Lockheed Martin’s Puerto Rico Center of Excellence (PRCOE) facility in Aguadilla is one of the company’s global IT centers. Lockheed Martin has been in Puerto Rico since 2006 and its approximately 45,000 square foot Aguadilla facility has seen strong headcount growth since its opening in 2016, with over 470 employees serving functional areas including engineering, software development, cybersecurity, global supply chain and customer excellence support.
On June 27, 2024, the PRCOE team welcomed Puerto Rico Governor Pedro Pierluisi and Secretary of Puerto Rico’s Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), Manuel Cidre Miranda, to the Aguadilla facility to announce the expansion of Lockheed Martin operations on the island and the creation of 255 jobs with the support of the Puerto Rico Economic Incentives Fund, assigned by the DDEC. The incentive is available to companies engaged in scientific research and development, software development and aerospace research and development, among others.
“Lockheed Martin’s longstanding partnership with the Puerto Rican government represents our unwavering commitment to drive growth, foster innovation and expand economic opportunities within Aguadilla and beyond,” said Joel Johnson, Lockheed Martin’s vice president, chief digital officer for Enterprise IT and chief information security officer. “Through this strategic investment, we and the DDEC aim to advance science, technology, engineering and mathematics in Puerto Rico and establish a pathway for additional future development.”
Lockheed Martin employees are driven by our deep sense of mission to tackle our customers’ biggest challenges and inspire and redefine what is possible for future generations.
